Serious potential problem with punishing the consumer
Remember, no matter what the situation, the customer is always right. If some newbie computer user kept beingtaken offline every other ten minutes, how long do you think it'd be before this person just gave up using computers altogether? While techies might enjoy this because it will remove one more "zombie" PC from the net, all corporate profits earned over the internet would take a hit. Less users means less money for the ISP, less money for Amazon, Microsoft, etc. Plus most businesses want to get most of their business on the net to reduce overhead. Jerking everyday people off with a "your PC was acting up again so we cut you out" won't fly for very long with cunsumers. Remember, people like things easy. It seems ridiculous to think that some person will be calling their ISP every other day begging to be re-admitted. Punishing users (especially over the criminal actions of someone else) is not an option, at least if businesses hope to retain and grow their clientele.
