ZZ: yes, exactly like that...
'the only reason i support the dems a bit more than the republicans are more for issues like abortion and religous fundimentalism (which i find more common in republicans)...'

I can support the cons on the late-term abortion issue, the religous fundlementalism has me a bit worried, but we haven't heard much from THAT part of the party for awhile now. But, what worries me about the libs is their "anti" religious fundlementalism - that entire "Separation of Church and State" crap. It's like no one knows who Madison was or how the 1st was written and the reasons why (hint: according to Madison, the man who WROTE the 1st amendment - it was because of the TEN COMMANDMENTS).

"why do we have a right to tell them they have to be a democracy?"

Does France/Germany and Russia have the right to keep a ruthless, murdering tyrant in place? Gallop poll says 70% of Iraqi's want the U.S. there.

"haven't you noticed that these people will always fight us? and ever noticed that every time we go into the middle east, we get screwed soemhow? our plans somehow backfire?
every consider that they hate us largly BECAUSE we keep screwing with them?"

Dude, they are going to fight us if we left them alone - the radicals hate what we stand for: democratic SELF determination. It's an affront to them:

"they don't care abotu democracy.."

They've NEVER had democracy - Islam has been spread by the use of the sword since the 6th century.

Also, the exact SAME thing was said about the Japanese at the end of WWII, the exact same thing was said about the Germans as late as 1952!

The problem with this generation is they expect INSTANT results. It took us 10 years to stabilize Japan and 7 to do the same with Germany (and we STILL have troops in both locations). It took us years to set up local governments and local banking in Germany, it's taken us MONTHS to do the same in Iraq.

Have patience people, this IS a great experiment (like it was for us back a couple of hundred years ago - when they said WE didn't care about democracy either).

Let's see what happens!
