- Well, at least one thing you said was true...

"What's really pathetic is the level of absolute political ignorance among ZDNet posters."
A statement I can heartily agree with! There are quite a few people who post to these boards without a basic understanding of either computer or homeland security. You are definitely right on the money.
The rest, of course, is pure hogwash.
First, let's take a look at your opinion of people who disagree with you.
"Nobody could be naturally this ignorant. It has to be deliberate."
You didn't ask for more information, or any evidence I might have available to back up my opinions. No, I'm just ignorant. But wait! I'm also deliberately ignorant. So, with great cunning, I am completely wrong. I think I'll just leave it at that.
"I'm going to love watching you guys choke on your own bile when we find the WMD."
When we find the WMD. WHEN we find them. Stated as if it's a foregone conclusion. Interesting... Perhaps you know something I, and the US intelligence services, military, and the current administration do not?
"You DO realize we've only searched 5% of all known stockpiles to date, right?"
Five percent? Really? You mean, the ninety-five percent of the other known stock-piles haven't been looked into? Are they even being guarded? Oooo... That's a scary thought.
Fortunately, you pulled that number out of thin air. According to David Kay, the five months his team has been searching has yielded nothing more than slim evidence of a "rudimentary" program to look into developing weapons. On October 2nd, he reported that it will be another six to nine months before his team has completed their search. That's a lot of time. That means that at worst, his team is a little more than thirty-three percent done.
But that's still a heck of a lot more than five percent. So, just where did you get that number, anyway?
"You DO realize that we've already discovered that Saddam had a WMD PROGRAM in place and running, right?"
Yep! And that program pretty much amounted to "Gosh, it would be nice if we could get some nukes and chemical weapons. Sure do wish those UN weapons inspections would go away." Not exactly the immediate threat to national security that the administration presented it as.
Here's a bonus question for some extra credit, kids! What has Saddam Hussein done in the last eight years to the United States? Please include all terrorist activity, all monetary connections with al Qaeda, and any involvement with September 11th.
Well, kids, if you left your test sheet blank, you get an A! Why? Because Saddam had nothing to do with September 11th! The al Qaeda terrorist organization is run by a madman who actively despised Iraq's Baathist regime! And for a long time, the only people Saddam could effectively terrorize were Iraqis!
That, in and of itself, is a good reason to overthrow that bloodsucking tyrant. But gosh darn it, it just wasn't the one our present administration used! Doesn't that just beat all get-out? Shucks.
"You DO realize just how stupid you look when you let your hatred for a person totally warp your grip on reality, right?"
Here's a thought for you: I don't hate George W. Bush. He's a likable guy, actually. It would be hard to hate someone as good-natured as him. It's just that he's not qualified to be president, any more than my cat is qualified to be my brain surgeon. Don't get me wrong; I adore my cat. But teaching him the difference between the cerebelum and the mendula oblongata is just plain not possible.
Adults, believe it or not, can disagree with someone's policies and still like the guy. Heck, I disagree with you completely, and I've even been insulted by you, but I don't specifically dislike you. - Posted by: Damon K Posted on: 11/11/03 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
