IT vs IT
Sorry...I didn't want to reply to a post. I wanted to reply to Story so here:

So far, from what I have read, you are mostly all "IT Pros".
You haven't at all spoken of anyone you've helped nor have you spoken of directing any of these "morons" you speak of to go to a tech site such as ZDnet/Cnet, CCPS (Computer Cops), GRC.com
(Steve Gibson), etc.
It's almost as if the It Pros are trying to teach or rather outsmart other IT Pros.
It's almost as if the Young are trying to outsmart the Old & vica versa.

I have worked on many an infected PC & I hear from these people that;
1) I just wanna turn the dang thing on & work!
They have AV & Firewall protection, but some don't update. They don't configure their s/w to AUpdate!
2) If we didn't have these "morons" then "we" IT people would be out of a job!
3) Many people don't know which attachments NOT to open these days and now you can receive virii/worms/trojans through a .gif or.jpg image.

Ever hear of Steganography? The Germans used steganography during the WWII to send "secret" messages through a painting or image. This (steganography) is more easily done these days with image technology, so if someone does open an attachment with .jpg or the .gif images loaded in HTML, they have just a good a chance of getting hit by virii/worms/trojans as opening an executable (.exe) file!

Every day we are playing catch-up w/ technology. Do you as an IT Pro ever tell or ask anyone to visit a tech site such as http://www.computercops.biz?
It is a great tech site w/ very helpful, wonderful people (mostly IT pros) who volunteer their time to help & educate these so called "morons" you speak of or do you NOT tell people about all the good tech sites online just so you can make more money and/or just log on to these forums to see who is "smarter" than who?

ZDnet USED TO BE a helpful site where people could get help like with CCPS (Computer Cops) or GRC.com (Steve Gibson Research), but now all I see these days is the same JADED old IT Pros duking it out w/ one another and you call that helpful?......NOT

Why not be a little more helpful?
Now when I see someone come on to ZDnet/Cnet, and ask for help re: IT they get called morons or worst!
Try not to name call like a bunch of little dry babies & help someone w/ IT who needs help w/ IT.

You shouldn't log on just to take out your frustrations. That's why I hardly ever log on here. I read for a good laugh most times happy

Try volunteering your time & effort. It makes you feel good & makes you feel more like you've accomplished something rather than taking out your frustrations on others!
