It isn't my job
I have told the senior partners that they are morons, to their faces. Of course I use a little more tact than just moron, but I have called one of them computer illiterate.

I am not paid to educate my users, as they will either forget it when things change on a daily basis, or flat out ignore it, because they don't care about the computers. As you said, a law firm's business is to deal with the Law, they don't have time or money to waste on taking care of unnecessary computer problems. That is why they pay me to get rid of the problems before they have a chance to affect the users at the firm. I am not a teacher, or an educator, I am an enforcer, the network "God" if you will at the firm. I have the final say, I make the decisions, and the senior partners accept them, because I have a proven track record, I get results, and I keep their computer systems working. If I was being paid to educate people, I would go teach at a college, but I am paid to protect the information resources of the Firm, and to keep their systems online and accessible. My methods may be extreme, but I get results.
