There is also parole
for the Fed prison system unless they've changed the law since my uncle did time. He was sentenced to five years in Fed pentitiary as a conscientious objector. He served 3 years in prison and was paroled for the remaining two years. Of course that was back in the 1960s so the laws could have changed since then.
