Firewall on Dial-up
First, thanks for the reasonable tone and worthwhile suggestions.

Yes, the final SP2 CD will be useful.
(I notice some of the recent updates have been labeled SP2. Maybe some parts are coming out piecemeal.)

You're right about loading ZoneAlarm first on any connection faster than dial-up.
But I wouldn't bother with it for dial-up, myself. Seems to be less interest in slow connections among the bad guys.
Also, for anyone with an older machine, and especially a 95 kernel Windows, the amount of resources and RAM used on a Firewall can be crippling to an already fragile system.
I also have encountered situations where someone has made Outlook Express their default mail client, then permanently denied it access to the internet. To prevent getting a virus.

This is a real issue. Is the vulnerability on dial-up sufficient to justify use of a firewall?
In most cases I think not, but I'll consider a counter argument.
