I think that may not be too far off from reality.

As advanced as the tech may be, there will still be the occasional screw up. It's a good idea for Delta and other air lines, but as long as humans are in there any where (in the baggage handling, tagging, programing [of the tags or the systems], or anywhere else for that matter) things will still get messed up from time to time.

of course, with out humans, the tech would never be developed and there would be no bags to tag.

Ironic isn't it...
