Education is the most important task. There are some great Firefox extensions that should really come standard on all web browsers. For instance, I use one called WOT that lets you vote on the trustworthiness of a site. Not just on whether the site is potentially harmful (like SiteAdvisor, which is still a very important tool to have) or just phishing (like PhishTank, which is also a very important tool). WOT asks you whether you believe a site can be trusted. It doesn't have to be a phishing site or distribute malware to be an untrustworthy site. WOT alerts you before going onto such sites. And I'm sure that WOT is not the only such service out there. The problem is that the regular computer user, those best able to gain benefits from it, have no idea about it, since it is Firefox-only. We need to bring more tools like that to the public to save them from themselves.
