RE: Report: PDF files used to attack computers
I received an email the other day from a client. The email was a forwarded message and had two files attached.

One was a .pdf file the other had the same file name but with an .exe extension.

I scanned the .exe file with AVG anti-virus which had the current definition list and it came up clean.

Still suspicious I called the client and she confirmed sending the .pdf file but her system did not show any trace of the .exe file in her sent mail file nor in the original email she forwarded.

Needless to say I deleted the .exe file without opening it.
