Isn't that what they promised with Server 2003
Maybe I was mistaken, but didn't they promise better security and few (if any) patches that would be needed for Server 2003? In just the few months since 2003 has been released, there have already been several critical patches that affect all Windows versions, including 2003. Wasn't 2003 supposed to fix all that?

I hope you're right, that MS can lock WIndows down, but based on their track record, I won't hold my breath. I've broken too many servers and workstations with their bad patches to put my trust in them.
