RE: Security firm: Hackers can divert Vonage calls
Vonage is excellent at ignoring system problems. I've been complaining since August of 2005 about charges for "International Calls" that are local numbers. Vonage billing system has a flaw in their "Call Transfer" feature where calls appearing without the digit "1" at the beginning are pegged as "International". (Digit 1+Area Code+Phone Number is normal North American Numbering Plan)
If only $1.00 a month is billed to each customer in error (last month it was $28 on my bill) then Vonage is raking-in over $2 Million a MONTH on the "error". They promise it will be fixed "soon"... but they've been saying that since 2005... and each time I call they "Never heard of this problem". Class Action, anyone?
