Password protect windows. and not with an easy password.
especially with xp.. the default will just boot and start with no password.

control panel > user accounts

Make sure it has at least 8-10 characters total with at least

one upper case letter ABCDEFG etc...
one lower case letter abcdefg etc...
one number 1234567 etc...
one symbol !@#$%^&*() etc...
