Police State
Spying on citizens is one of the necessary actions despots must take when moving a democratic society to fascism. It scares people. "Terrorism' has been painted as the common enemy for which we must suspend our civil liberties - another step down the road to Hitler and Mussolini. Prisons outside the law are another. The ability to declare a citizen an enemy combatant paves the way to eliminate resistance. Blackwater is a private security force under the control of the regime. This country is in a dire position right now, and it may not be long before we really do have a police state. If you think it can't happen here, think again.
