Storm Worm
Since Microsoft has the largest distribution system to Windows computers, they could develop a worm to target this Trojan and cut the head off of the serpent. A lot of criminal underground would have paid for nothing. Microsoft?s answer would be there would only be another Trojan after that and really every computer user should have there own anti-virus protection. So what is the answer here? What is the commonality in these programs? Should Microsoft have a better, smarter fire wall? These people rely on the ignorance of computer users to maintain and propagate their malicious material. Should the media do a better job of educating the public? The media obviously can?t point out that there are free programs and services to prevent these problems. They would be under fire from those companies that sell these products. Some of the ISP?s provide there users with free programs to prevent these problems, should all ISP?s be required to provide this service? Even if they did what percentage of users would actually take advantage of them? Perhaps our only solution is in the young as they learn in school how to manage their own computer systems?
