This is more than an "I used the latest patch" problem. There is much more to securing a site than just being up to date on the patches. There are practices than can verify and lock down the system much more than just doing all the right "clicky things" in the GUI. You can set the directories read only except during an update, you can checksum all the files and file systems regularly. Basic system integrity stuff beyond the OS level.

There is more to security than Microsoft. This is being shown time and again with all these incidents.
