I suspect with a Firewall and Anti Virus programs installed, this is only an indication of possible problems rather than actual problems.

Possibly, but a lot of Windows users let their subscriptions expire and their dat files don't get updated, so they get infected.

Also, a dat file cannot contain a vaccine until the virus is detected in the wild, captured, analyzed and a vaccine created, packaged in a dat file and downloaded by Windows users. By the time the virus is detected in the wild it has infected hundreds if not thousands or tens of thousands of computers. If your computer is one of those then your personal info may already be for sale on the underground market.

As far as VISTA is concerned it's anti-virus protection is rated poorly out of the 12 major products.

It catches only 90.37% of all the viruses it sees. How many Windows viruses did it see last month? 100? VISTA let 10 of them in.
