Banking laws need to be changed.
A year or two ago one local TV station interviewed an airline pilot and his wife who had been stung for $50,000 on one of the "Nigerian" fraud schemes. Their excuse? "Well, he said he was a Christian so we knew he wouldn't lie!" And they even said in the interview they were considering sending another $20,000 - even after they knew they had been stung! How dumb!!

The real problem is that the criminals are taking advantage of banking laws that predate Al Gore's Internet.

What will it take? Some judge, senator or congressman or their family member getting bit on the ass before the ancient banking laws are changed?

Not only are the "Nigerian" scams a problem but I get obviously fake email from eBay "sellers" wanting me to pay them directly. These are very funny because they use a template with only the description and item number being different. If I don't have anything else to do I pretend that I've fallen for their scheme but (playing dumb) sent the money to the REAL seller. Then I keep pestering the crook asking when I will receive the item. LOL!
