The suit by Zango intended to force spyware companies to submit to a standard of due diligence difficult to meet, hobbling anti-spyware companies from listing companies like Zango as spyware threats. In so many words, Zango wanted a right to breaking and entering with the onus being on the end user to catch them without the help of anti-spyware software; i.e., homes with no locks. In effect, Zango was challenging anyone's right to call it a purveyor of spyware. I guess criminals are getting bolder; a harsh assessment of Zango, but one I believe fits them.

However, the article could have been written far better with even just a few changes in tenses of verbs. As it was, it was hard to determine whose side the writer was on or who was at fault.
