In addition, one of the things Kaspersky pointed out is that the user can click "Allow" to let Zango in. Basically, their software is designed to allow the user control what is downloaded and installed onto their system and prevents software from installing without the user's knowledge and/or permission.

"If there are companies that are worried about being put out of business by being identified as spyware publishers, then they should probably look at their practices to determine what behavior of their software led the company to identify them in the first place. If the software provides a useful service, then people won't remove it. Their customers have expressed a desire to be able to easily identify and remove software that they don't want on their computer."

Totally agreed. If Zango wasn't doing stuff their customers hated, this wouldn't be a problem.

Frankly, I think the adware software model is dying. Commercial applications, web applications, and open source applications are where we seem to be headed for the foreseeable future. The old shareware/adware stuff is pretty dead as far as I'm concerned.
