The most important question never asked in poll.
How many were actually infected? While they were being scanned, why not include this demographic? Also they did not show a correlation between infection and non-updated definitions or automatic scanning. People could also do manual scans and be safe or practice safe surfing so that all of this software isn't needed except the basics. They also could be totally hosed so that no matter what security they do have will not work.

Not only are Americans wrong about security, so are the companies that sell it or the reps that form these alliances to "scare" us to death to drive sales. The greatest threat is over-relying on tech and not truly educating users. Or as Ron White says, "You can't fix(patch) stupid".
