Why the HELL is there even such a thing as an "executable RTF file"?
You know, 20 years ago I'd come across this kind of thing in SF novels,
executable network packets or files, and I'd go "you gotta be kidding.
Nobody would be stupid enough to let people stick random programs
that could do anything dangerous inside files like that". There had
been a couple of cases where you could hide scripts in files... and
they had all been treated as bugs, and the fix had been to remove that
ability.

Ten years ago Microsoft not only did it, they fought the justice
department to a standstill so they could KEEP doing it. You couldn't
put something like that in an SF novel. Nobody would believe it.

What I want to know is, why hasn't Microsoft been sued to a cinder
over this completely insane, incompetent, illogical, insecure, and
incomprehensible design?
