Just in case this wasn't a troll:

I wonder about the timing of announcing a bug in a year and a half old software product. What do you suppose the reaction would be if someone were to announce a bug in a product that had not been sold by Microsoft in the last 1 1/2 years? OpenOffice has a "check for updates" built into it, under help. And now that Sun office is part of GooglePack, you can get it updated through the google updater. But as the poster thinks OpenOffice is no good, having it be updated would be of little use. BTW, like your advice, I uninstalled Microsoft Office from all computers that had it on them. My systems have been running smoothly, without macro viruses and the like, ever since. And the Excel floating point error doesn't effect OpenOffice Calc. Although, as Microsoft has said, the odds of anybody finding that bug are minute. (Except for the guy who found it, of course.)
