well what do you expect?
Where are these Americans you are talking about who are paying for these yachts owned by CEO's who outsource jobs to third world countries? Are these the same Americans who only paid $299 for a computer so powerful it could singlehandly put a man on Mars but is only used to play video games & have cybersex? Or is it the Americans who just paid over $1,000 for a designer purse that will only last six months before it's worn out & thrown in the trash? Or maybe it's the same Americans who pay only .69 cents for two liters of name brand soda pop? Or get exotic orchids for their wives on Mother's Day for only $1.99? Oh, I bet you mean the Americans who complain when they have to pay $3.00 for a ream of copy paper so they can print up 500 flyers advertising their garage sale to sell all the junk they paid next to nothing for. You know the one's I mean. The same Americans who won't shut up about inflation making everything cost more while they are paying the same or lower prices than they did 30 years ago. I remember paying two bucks for pantyhose I can get for a buck now. I used to pay four dollars for the same hamburger I pay about two dollars for now. I bought a beach umbrella two days ago for $5 that was the EXACT umbrella I bought about 5 years ago for $30! There is a warehouse store around every corner, not to mention insane prices on eBay even after shipping cost! It's THESE Americans who get off so cheaply & waste money so foolishly that you are speaking of. What did you expect? I'll tell you what you expect... the American dream... something for nothing. When Americans are too lazy/greedy to make pet food, toys & yes, even arms, as cheaply & for as little pay as the Chinese will do it, then what do you expect? What did Americans expect was going to be the fallout from our refusal to pay a fair market price for goods in the long haul? What US citizens don't understand is that every time you buy a cozy pair of house slippers at the .99 cent store rather than paying ten bucks at Sears that you used to pay for them you are just putting off the inevitable. In the end you'll pay every penny you saved by having to pay in some other way somewhere down the line. The problem with the US is that it's people equate everything with money instead of holding some things more valuable than money, such as your own dear life & those of your children. We've taught those kids to be consumers not how to be happy with who they are internally. We are ultimately the ones that put ourselves up for sale & sell ourselves out, not those poor pathetic workers enslaved in factories coating toys with lead paint in China. They don't have any other alternatives. We do. Yet knowingly, we choose to disregard all we know to be right, true, decent, honest & good in order to buy everything we use in our daily lives at pennies on the dollar at the expense of humanitarian values knowing full well someone suffered to keep our feet warm in those slippers. Then we wonder why we are hated by so many & not seen as liberation gods by those we invade. There is so much wrong with us & very little right anymore. Everything we do has ulterior motives. Nothing is done just simply for the sake of doing a good turn or helping others. Anyone who believes that we do a good turn just for the sake of doing good is a simpleton & late for double jackpot night at the local bingo hall. When Americans will work like dogs for bread & water & just be thankful they are allowed to live, THAT is the day all those jobs you are complaining we outsource will come back into the United States. Until then, don't bet your kid's Happy Meal toy on anything changing in the forseeable future except for maybe our own economic collapse. I don't know why Americans are so paranoid that we are going to be invaded by China from the outside when they have already used our own weaknesses & lack of morals to gain a foothold on our daily lives to the point that if they simply embargo everything & stopped supplying us for a single month, our country could possibly implode on it's own as it is. In short, they have us where they want us & if we don't like it they just dare us to stop buying from them. What's more, on the subject of hacking... since when do we believe our own government doesn't employ hackers on it's payroll to do the very same thing to China. This is VERY old news. Not to mention that I recall individual hackers from China & the US having a hacker war in the late 1990's to see who could get into the others' government websites & leave their marks. It was all over the news. I don't see how everyone has forgotten about it. Remember, that was about the time that we have Janet Reno among others (mostly oldster good old boys) to thank for leaving us with laws that restrict us to using 128 bit encryption because they don't have a clue what encryption even is, let alone that at the time of that law's conception Name Secure was selling 1024 bit encryption on the open market here in the USA. Not long after there was over one million bit encryption & other algorithms that came out that far surpassed our wildest imaginations. All of which are now made strictly illegal by our ignorant government oldsters who don't even know how to get their email on a computer let alone how computer programs work. (i.e., the ridiculous Microsoft trials which actually used the MS Word program to create documents used to convict Microsoft bogusly for not really being a monopoly when there were/are many other OS's to be had... just more computer/technological ignorance & stupidity... but I digress) We have the grandpas & grandmas that call themselves our government & run our country to thank for this debaucle. We all told those ninnies this day was coming but they refused to believe it. Well, maybe that's not as accurate as that they chose not to educate themselves on the technology in question so that they couldn't make an intelligent decision if their lives depended upon it. This event truly highlights a long overdue revolution that needs to take place in this country that overturns our ideas that geriatric white men from podunk nowhereville mid-America are qualified to be elected heads of state & government officials that run our country. Literally, life has passed these people by at light speed & they are in a zone where they don't know if they are coming or going. Medical science proves that as you age you get set in your ways & unable to grasp & remember things as well as you did when you were in your prime. Most in our government are a bunch of old people who feel like they are surrounded by a pack of smart mouth punk whipper snappers that need to be taught a lesson about the good old days when they walked to school barefoot in the snow for ten miles. Seriously though, it's time the old people step aside & admit they can't meet the challenges of the new world problems & that technology is way beyond their capabilities to fathom. And yes, I'm one of those that would gladly pass the torch to the young people who seem infinitely more capable than I am to deal with the steep learning curves of keeping one's finger on the pulse of modern life. And I'm only in my mid 40's. I truly believe old age should be a golden time when you relax & let the young people take care of you for a change while making yourself always available for sage advice & passing along stories about the good old days when I started on a 486 computer with Windows 3.1 But see I digress again... that's what's wrong with growing old. Can't stay on subject! LOL Anyway... If you don't even know what encryption is, how can you pass laws limiting it's uses? Essentially, this pack of old fools virtually unlocked our cyber front doors & put out a welcome mat for criminals. They may as well hung signs on each one of us with instructions on how to steal our identities & rob our private information, let alone hack into the government's systems. Truly, when they took away encryption that was stronger than 128 bit the criminals were left with better security than our own government & the ability to pretty much monitor any level of our government they want. It tied our law enforcement's hands behind their backs so to speak. When even law enforcement & agencies are restricted to using only 128 bit encryption code what can they do to stop cyber crimes from not only outside the US but inside as well by criminals who have stronger encryption to hide themselves behind? By the way, 128 bit encryption was cracked over ten years ago. More old news people choose not to recall. So, what the heck did anyone expect? Yet no one did a darn thing to protest encryption laws. The young people don't protest anything these days except the unfair pricing changes on I-phones & rules about who gets to buy concert tickets first. It's very sad for my generation to watch the world's brightest & most intelligent people to ever grace the planet in it's history trivialize & marginalize themselves into nothing more than a vast population of very attractive but largely unopinionated non-voting lemmings. One can't complain when you don't stand up and do something about the very things you complain about. You can make fun of the hippies from the 60's & 70's all you want but at least they DID something & stood up to the establishment by just saying no. Now we watch these young people go off to die in another country for reasons that none of us truly can fathom the nature of. It's worse than Vietnam by far even if our death toll isn't as high... yet. History will bear this out after GWB is long gone & buried with that smirk permenantly plastered on his face. It's just unfortunate that as parents the baby boom generation thought we were sparing our children by not teaching them to study the social science behind wars. Historically, wars are invented by old men to thin the herd of young men & leave them unchallenged in their authority. That just isn't going to work this time. The sooner we old people learn that & stop pretending like this is still 1950, the sooner all these problems will have an end in sight. Until then, you get what you pay for... no more, no less. Stop being part of the problems then whining about others not providing you a solution to all the troubles that you got yourself into. Until Americans RADICALLY change their daily lives & habits back to a reasonable level of normalcy & quit living like demi-gods off the backs of third world countries, don't expect any changes for the better. Even our poorest people in this country expect too much & are so picky & choosy that I have no sympathy for them. Don't believe me? Try donating a used bed or couch to a local charity like Goodwill or Salvation Army. You can hardly get them to take it if it isn't brand new. Not just "like new" condition. They will tell you, "well you don't want to sleep in it anymore so why should those less fortunate want to either". Ummm... because it beats sleeping on the floor? They actually ask you what color the couch is because poor people don't like lime green, burnt orange or plaids. Amazing! And donating clothing? Forget about it. They warehouse it all except designer labels. It rots in a warehouse until it's either sold to recyclers or sent overseas where most of the poor in other countries don't want/need it either. It sits in warehouses in mountains until it's burned or recycled or whatever. You may as well save the trouble & just take it to the recycler yourself. There is something fundamentally wrong with a society whose supposedly poor people turn down perfectly good items because they already have much better! THIS is why we are in the spot we are in. Until that mindset of everyone acting rich & important ends & some basic humility & common sense enters into our daily lives. Don't expect things to get anything but more out of control day by day. Don't expect sanity from an insane world. Better still, don't behave insanely & rely on the rest of the world to be the stable ones who bring sanity to your world so you can rest comfortably in their protection. It ain't happening. We live by example. You want to live in a sane world? Set an example by showing some restraint & sanity in your own life. Impress on others the need to do the same. Maybe your grandkids will have a sane world if the trend starts now.
