No Linux has not
It has been identified as a potential, as have many Microsoft issues, but unlike the Microsoft issues, very, very few of the Linux issues have been exploited.

Another thing, this is the first kernel level bug that I have seen in a while, that is serious. But as with 99.4% of all the other kernel level bugs, it's not remote exploitable.

Another thing, CVS OpenSSL are not part of the kernel. The way in which they were identified in this article makes it sound as though they are. This is incorrect. They are applications that sit on top, and BOTH are optional. Desktop Linux stations, will not or at least should not have CVS installed. It's not needed. OpenSSL on the other hand... well actually that's not needed either but it is a nice tool.

Bottom line... big deal it's not remote exploitable. Physical access to the machine is required. Give me physical access to any, ANY Microsoft machine, I will have it destroyed in a matter of a few minutes. No machine, unless gaurded 24/7 is safe from local exploits and hacks.

As it stands the Linux OS (Kernel folks, kernel.) Is still more stable and secure than the Microsoft OS(s) / Kernel.
