Hurting sales
While it may not hurt current sales, it does not mean that future sales will not suffer. Right now, many people don't even know about Windows XP firewall. Heck, it may just be because many people aren't even running Windows XP. However, in the future, if Microsoft improves the firewall, or creates a decent AV (and bundles it in some way) most people are not going to go out and buy another one. It is a simple fact of life.
