Spam is still growing--and costing

Spam and forged headers

So CAN-SPAM goes into effect and the spam in my inboxes quadruples! Thanks folks.

As a legitimate business, I only send only monthly updates, to opt-in subscribers. I have privacy policies clearly posted, reasurrances about NOT selling or renting email addresses, information about NOT clicking on attached files, explanations about forged headers that cause spam and viruses to appear to be coming from us... and on and on and on....

I'd say that 90% of the spam I recieve is coming from/being routed through overseas.

I cannot afford to pay to send emails out - my businesses are Internet based I don't have a retail store. I'm the epitome of the small business.

As long as companies can make money touting their product / services to STOP spam, viruses, worms, trojans, pop-up etc, etc, etc, the problem will exist. Why make a active, honest effort to stop a money maker?
