That's not how Spam works
Spam is a big scam.

Flip throught the TV channels at about 2 AM. You will find at least 1 infomercial offering a get rich quick scheme using the internet. They don't tell you that it's spamming but that's what it is. So these people fork out a couple hundred dollars for thier SPAM kits and feeling they must make thier money back they start spamming.

Spam is also a lot like hand delivering flyers. You pay a person X dollars to send out X emails. The fact that nothing ever comes from these emails does not deter the companies from hiring spammers. They advertise but don't really care if you click on it or even buy anything, they care just that you see them. That's how advertising works. When Burger King puts an ad on TV they don't expect me to run off and buy a burger they just want to plant that subconscious bug in my mind.
