Spam is still growing--and costing

agreed, but people are stupid

Even though it is only a small minority (last report I saw showed that only 1 out of 1000 spam emails generates a "click-through" and only 1 out of almost 20,000 generates a purchase) they ruin it for the rest of us. Even with odds like that, there is a huge (and growing) number of people that buy products advertised through spam. Because the numbers keep growing year by year, it gives justification to the spammers that their business is on the rise, and is proof-positive that there is a sucker born every minute.

There is a finite amount of intelligence (brain matter) that exists in the world. And as matter cannot be created or destroyed, regardless of the number of people, the total of the intelligence will remain the same. Thus, as the population continues to explode at an alarming rate, society as a whole becomes dumber, and dumber, and dumber.

NEVER underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
