which is interpreted and displayed in a human readable format by software. I for one don't particularly want to go to jail because a bug in the firmware of this device reports an incorrect value every 1000 readings because of how it handles storing past values into a proprietary memory chip. If a company the size of Microsoft can't put out bug free software, you think I'm ready to just trust "Bob's Combination Breathalyzer/Pocket Fisherman". This is something that pretty much nobody would ever even think about until they're sitting there in cuffs having been arrested for DUI after having a martini a few hours earlier. Just because something happens so infrequently as to be a statistical anomoly doesn't mean there shouldn't be some recourse for those caught in that "statistical anomoly" category instead of "well, sorry about your luck". As we see every day in these forums, the general consensus is that there's no such thing as software without bugs.
