Who Tests?
How does this device analyze? We are talking about a lot of variables here and I doubt we are refering to linear measurements.

Having the code would allow the defense to determine what the device is doing with the sample.

What errors do temperature andd humidity play, both on the device and the sample? You suggest simple testing, I don't think it's that simple, and who pays for the testing?

If other companies release thier code, shouldn't all? It's not like they shouldn't expect their devices to be challenged in court.
