Yeah, much ado about the revenue
my state passed a law to drastically increase traffic fines for instate violators but the funds are to be used for road projects. Here's the stupidity, if the law works to curb traffic violations, then they hinder funding, if the funding part works, they are hoping that traffic violations continue at a certain level, . . instead of finding real solutions for funding and realistic penalties for violations.

As far as surveillance goes, with camera's popping up everywhere in public, I wonder 1. how monitors would respond to people shielding themselves from said cameras; ie masks or concealment for privacy, and 2. public demanding that surveillance extend to the monitoring force themselves, some checks and balance on the great responsibility of profiling a cityscape? How long before the law 'requires' in-home surveillance to ensure 'trust', new homes must have built-in tools like cameras and automatic lockdown? in the name of protecting citizens. Guess that's a bit of reach, it's not like cars have a little black box, lo jack, a chip for 'parents' and rental companies/insurance companies to monitor driving patterns for monetary assessment/penalty, computer components that need a techie and machine to fine control aspects of vehicle performance, or OnStar to start/stop/unlock/lock down a vehicle with a little spark from a satellite right into the middle of nowhere. Ah, the Joy of Tech. . . . .
