That's what I am worried about...
Forget about the Mac or Linux versus Windows issue for a moment -it was an easy
statement that would get people to think about this. It's the fact that they can
(allowed to) do this at all that worries me. What will be the next "reason" they use
to install software on my computer? You hit on a very worriesome thought -
"especially since the Feds seem intent on antivirus vendors 'not' detecting their
spyware".
I just think this crosses a boundary, that's all. Using an analogy that people seem
to love around here.... What if dear old Uncle Sam decided that speeders were
terrorists and put in a hidden sensor in your car to report you every time you
"broke the law". A bit of an extreme analogy, but possible given the crooks and
lawyers running this country.
