I am not buying this story
Lets say the perpetrator just denied all of it. How did the FBI prove that the perpetrator did any of the keying? I mean Microsoft mucks around with everyone's PCs via genuine advantage. There is little one can do about it. I mean sure there is a box to check but really? Then there is Microsoft meeting, VNC, GotomyPc. Who is to say some hacker didn't set the fellow up.

Olympia is a town that has ruined many by finding porn on their PCs. Planting porn is now the more likely explanation of how the stuff ends up on a computer because everyone is so aware of what can happen if porn is found. I mean why do state workers at the department of social services continue to down load the stuff after reading the stories of what happens to those who are reported to have done so? Are they stupid? Isn't it more likely that they were set up?

This article is FUD IMO. Nice idea but it is more likely the kids parents or a friend turned him in. Or someone on the social net he belonged to alerted officials.

We should recognize that a story like this creates a certain climate which dissuades Web 2.0 advancement and inhibits discussion. It is the climate used by slave masters.
