Hewlett-Packard provides Security Service?
I was unaware that HP provided Security Services until this article. That revelation is damning to the current governor of the state of California who encouraged his AGs to settle with HP rather than pursue Patty Dunn, the identity theft queen.

HP is credited with creating silicon valley and is currently the largest IT company by revenue in the world.

It paid $14.5 million to settle civil charges brought by the California Attorney General at the end of 2006 effectively ending an investigation that probably would have implicated government officials. It paid peanuts, in other words. The payment was hardly punishment. Shareholders didn't blink an eye and the stock price didn't waiver.

This article demonstrates that HP had a much larger knowledge of the mechanisms of identity theft and a stronger connection to the US government than just the use of an e-mail tracking service called ReadNotify.com. No one lost their bar memberships over Patty Dunn, let alone went to jail.

Justice was far from served.
