reportage below minimum standards = FUD
?
None of the embedded links in this story refers to anything even remotely resembling a legitmate "security advisory." Not even the website of story-quouted Pure Hacking (no mention or links a/o 13Jul2007 2210 GMT). Last "news" story there is dated 03Jul2007.

Not that I doubt that there is a real problem. The "security" of Java has always been overstated.

Which link on AusCERT might this story refer to???...
As of the same time, there are multiple Sun Java bugs/vulns mentioned on Page One of:

Sun just got through releasing JREJRE6 v1.6.0.02 build 05
(and they still haven't gotten NX/XD right)... is v1.6.0.02 build 05 build remediated or is it vulnerable???... If this is a new ZeroDay, why didn't the writer throw in that FUD buzz-word in along with the rest of the emptiness???...

Can't find mention of this devastating/cross-platform vuln on the Sun Java site. Then again, I don't have all day to find this needle in a stack of needles. (Which is supposedly why read ZDnet, right???)

And why not mention all of the US cel carriers, by name, who absolutely fail to update JRE on any of their (non-WinMob class) JRE enabled MSH and have no plans for ever doing so???... We could use a steady drumbeat on that topic.
