More fear promotion.
I agree that articles like this just create more fear of surfing. An example of ignorance is the use of debit/credit cards. I have seen so many people say "I won't use MY card on the internet.". Well if you only thought it through, as soon as you use it ANYWHERE...it is on the internet...LOL. Where do you think the scanners send the information? Changing your browser sounds like a sly promotional way of trying to sell us on Firefox ect;. IE is secure enough to handle most surfers surfing. Just now it stopped THIS website from using an activeX control in an unsafe manner. I think that perhaps Search engines should be incorporated into checking ALL links before posting them for surfers. There is already enough technology out there that ANY link via email or website can be analyzed and rejected if it is bad. Any link that turns out as so should be investigated ie; traced and appropriate actions taken even if it means tracing the IP to the source and having the ISP ban the said client from use of the ISP. Yes these hackers and such are tricky but if a system is developed nationwide, they can be automatically stopped before they can even insert/post/create a URL that points to a bad page ect;. It is the 21st century! Come on techs, lets use the knowledge we have to blow away these criminals once and for all! If they can't use it....they won't make it.
