Just another reason I won't buy CD's anymore
I think the slide in sales is because they treat their customers like criminals, the music being released these days is over manufactured and cheesy, geared towards teens mostly and marketed on sex (if spears was fat and ugly would you buy her music?), CD's are too expensive, the economy is still not that great.

Also, I don't understand the protectionism that is out there for the music industry. It seems to me that they feel they can produce a song and it is expected to sell. If it doesn't sell then somehow it has to do with people stealing versus nobody wants the song. Nowhere is it said that a company or industry has a protected right to be successful and profitable. If governments were to force consumers to buy products to protect industries then we'd be all still riding horses and using the telegraph. Times change, business changes, the music industry may very well go under someday but something else will take it's place. The government needs to stay out of it.
