Back in 2001 the GOP signaled their subservience to Microsoft money in more than Ashcroft's settlement of the anti=trust case. In fact, they reversed course on wide fronts and ceased supporting SE Linux and OpenBSD whilst dmonstrating domestic Involuntary Rendition on Dmitry Sklyarov.
It's no surprise they have yet to get their act together,
