Puma my point is...
So what! Microsoft has yet to even release thier 64 bit XP OS to the mainstream public en mass and the only people who can afford it have 5 and 6 digit incomes. The article states that it is a proof of concept virus, that it CAN be done not that it will (but likely will) be a threat in the near future.

Now, I'm not sticking up for MS on this but its not MS's fault that every hacker and his dirt bag ***** mother is for looking for holes or trying to punch holes in an OS that is not out en mass yet. Seems counter productive to me that IT professionals would even jump on this and create a virus for a product that isn't even widely use yet. We all know Longhorn will embrace the 64 bit software. Maybe the reason MS keeps delaying it is cause people like this are trying to punch holes it before its ever released. We all bi*ch and moan about having to patch our windows machines and here some A$$ creates a virus that will cause MS to make even more pactches for XP 64 bit and Longhorn later.

Like I said....counter productive.
