The buck stops where...
So let?s say that a group of hackers crack away at some manufacturer?s software for about two years and finally manage to bust a hole in it. Because of this, the software manufacturer is sued. Couldn?t the software manufacturer in turn sue the company whose software they used to check their own for bugs? In this scenario, whose software is ultimately responsible for the problem? Will the company that makes the source code checking software be willing to include in their EULA that they take responsibility for their software not catching all possible bugs as it is suppose to do?
