I know this because...
None of the many security companies reporting these flaws have
reported any actual exploits happening in the real world. None
of the hundreds of Apple news and rumors sites have
mentioned any actual exploits happening in the real world.

It's a serious security flaw, but to exploit it, one has to go to a
compromised or deliberately set up website, and download a
particular file. That's harder to make happen than to have
someone open an e-mail attachment. So it's not surprising that
we don't see infections sweeping the Apple community.
