You are not an MS employee
You are obviously not an employee of MS. For them, part of creating the need is to ensure that only they can/will provide a solution to that need. When their software becomes the only way to access the net or to log-in to sites, then they have successfully created the need. If anybody else provides a solution, they will either be bought up or driven out of business. All we'll see of it tho is BillyG in a munchkin suit singing the new All Praise to MS song (lipsynching to the current Band of the Day, of course).

Ok, considering where I am, we'll prolly see a bit more of it, but most of the world will remain oblivious.
