Well..
I couldn't do a software package to software package comparison.. I don't know what software comes bundled with the eMac (the Apple store doesn't seem very helpful in this regard with a cursory glance).

AV is important.. and definately should be included on any machine.

DVD authoring software is usually incuded with any burner you purchase, though, so it's not really necessary.. although a program like Nero is a nice addition.

Works.. well, besides Word (does it still come with Word? For $20 you quote I wonder..), is pretty much useless the last time I checked..

Anyway, the hardware specs I gave are already well above those for the eMac.. (that cursory glance of the Apple store showed me they aren't even using a G5 processor in the eMac!). Substitute as necessary to cover the costs of any software necessary..
