That is the stupidest statement I've read all week. Good news for you is it's only Monday, so you got all week to top yourself.

First of all, "with all the money he made"???? You mean money he got illegally and was later seized by the same government paying for his public defender?

Oh wait, if I use a couple more brain cells, I realize that the entire reason we even have public defenders is so that people accused of a crime can have a fair trial. Ok? That's so the rest of us aren't doomed to be judged before we're tried by dumbasses like you.

Sooooo, let's recap.

Defendant had no money. He (allegedly) defrauded companies by selling them spam software disguised as marketing tools. Now he has companies' monies, but it is still not his own monies (because he got it illegally). Defendant gets caught, and monies he got illegally are seized. Now defendant stands trial, and because he has no money, gets a public defender. Just like every murderer, embezzler, thief, rapist or any other criminal. There are people out there doing far worse things than sending spam and defrauding companies. I can only hope you're not wasting the life span of your last two brain cells worrying about their public defenders too. FFS!!

The letter of the law says "Innocent until proven guilty." If you want to spend your own money to do that, be the public's guest, but meanwhile we pay prosecutors with tax money just like we pay public defenders with tax money. Don't get it twisted and act like the guy isn't a US citizen all of a sudden.
