I allow two customers to "relay"
through my mail server. Even though the sender's email address domain is differrent than the mail server that is sending it, my mail server's domain and IP show up in the header. This can easily be checked to see if they and my MX record all mesh in my DNS zone.

It's not the sender's e-mail address that is verified. It is the validity of the mail server. 99% of all spam I receive comes from zombie PC's and not legitimate mail server's.
