Actually VOIP should be taxed and regulated just like real telephone companies. They can't connect to all the telephones in the country with out using a telephone switch and connecting to the telephone grid.

Ah.... you say, that is just the point, they use a computer and not a telephone switch.

Ah.... I say, a telephone switch is nothing but a special purpose computer.

Are the VOIP companies such as Vonage installing their own infrastructure? No they are not.

Bottom line: If you are providing phone services in any way you should be taxed and regulated as a phone company. wink
