My bank sells my address to snail mail spammers
... sad that (in UK) it is perfectly legal for my bank (just one example) to sell my address to as many spam "partners" as they can. As a result there's a never ending cascade of dead trees comes through my letter box in the form of multi-page, glossy leaflets and letters from
"legitimate" loan companies, health insurance companies, motor insurance companies, more loan companies, even more loan companies ... I can delete spam unread and no trees are wasted but snail mail spam wastes real world resources from inception to post office delivery. Can Iopt out? No. What happens when I phone the bank to try to opt out? They try to sell me more services and the spam level increases.

At least with snail mail spam you can rip their stuff up and post it back to them in their pre-paid envelope. No such joy with e-spam ...
