NonZealot, does it matter what OS is in the laptop hard drive?
No. Take that somewhere else, please.

This whole Linux vs. Windows vs. Linux biases/bashing is getting really old...

Operating system should NEVER be part of security defense, like Mac or Linux is more secure than Windows, including browsers (in this case, Firefox vs. Opera vs. Konquerer vs. Internet Explorer 7).

We're talking laptops that get stolen.
