You're both deluding yourselves...
First point - NOTHING is secure, unless you've got your machine in a nice little sandbox, not connected to any other machines or the Internet. So don't go banking on IE 7's "protected mode" making your machine invulnerable to the Web...

Problems with software are found all the time - just look at Vista's "feature" that prevents unsigned modules being inserted into the kernel; broken already. The same goes for the Apple wireless stack - a Macbook was broken into during a security conference as a live demonstration. If you want to know the specifics, have a quick Google for them.

The point is, there's no point in slating each others OS - they've both got issues... And telling yourself your safe because of reason (a) and (b), you fall into that dangerous camp of people who BELIEVE they are secure, rather than actually KNOWING it...

Just my 2 cents...
